A retired high school teacher, she travels as a part-time missionary with her husband, Frank, to Costa Rica with TATICA, an organization disciplining local law enforcement officers in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Sharon is our lead mentor and has been actively involved in the ministry since its beginning. She oversees our transitional home and mentors our ladies. She tirelessly pours her heart into walking beside survivors as they pursue their dreams.
Joann Medinilla has taught for over 20 years in Christian education. She felt a strong calling to serve survivors of sex trafficking after hearing Christa Hicks share her testimony at a mission’s conference in 2013. Joann began mentoring at ITJ and offered GED tutoring sessions for its members, eventually joining the board in 2016. She is passionate about Christ and her family. She has a life-long love for education, and recently stepped out of the classroom as she felt God calling her to serve as the director of Into the Jordan.

Audra, a survivor of trafficking, first met Christa Hicks, our founder, in 2007 when she first moved to Fort Myers with her husband. Christa and Audra soon developed a close friendship and Christa began mentoring her. Audra now has a passion to share the love and support that she received through this ministry with others going through similar circumstances. She is the manager of the Fig Leaf Boutique, a resale thrift shop run by the ministry and leads weekly life skills group for our women.

Mandie has been supporting ITJ for the past 5 years. She is a dedicated mentor at ITJ and volunteers weekly with our ladies and their children. She is a passionate follower of Christ and dedicated wife and mother. She desires to lead our ladies with grace and boundaries, and is a wonderful addition to our team.
Mimi first came to ITJ for counseling and life skills group to heal from her past, and soon began to build a future that by the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ has no shame. She spent a number of years volunteering by sorting donations, networking with local ministries that are like-minded and putting together care packages for outreach programs. After a year of performing ministry intern duties, her family was lead to California where she was able to utilize the skills developed to sustain her household and reach her career goals. Upon moving back to Florida, we were happy to see her return to put her organizational and clerical skills to use. Mimi's work helps the ministry function more smoothly in an effort to meet the needs of ladies seeking our help in Lee County, and by teaching them about the transforming power of a life lead by Jesus Christ.
